Community Center

“A few tree trunks with a corrugated iron roof and some bamboo mats for privacy….

This was the sight of the community center in Uganda when the Swiss Barakah Charity team first saw Supa Village in Pallisa District with their own eyes.

Actually, the plan was only to build a well in Supa. When SBC recognized these circumstances and saw how much the people need the community, the idea of the new Community Center was born.

The center will be built together with the community. SBC will provide the resources with your donations and community members will construct the building with their muscle power.

The Community Center will be used for the following activities, among others:

– Educational activities

– Social and cultural events

– women’s meetings

– children’s activities

– and much more.
It should become a nice meeting place where there is something for everyone. The center will contain several rooms. Among them, a small library where children can be taught and a kitchen from which to cook for community occasions. There will also be a large shade canopy, allowing for outdoor activities. The centerpiece of the center will be a multifunctional hall, which will provide a large area for occasions of all kinds. Of course, there will also be sanitary facilities, which can be used by the community.

In addition, the premises offer a good basis for further aid projects of SBC. Hot meals will be cooked and distributed there on a regular basis. In the hall, distributions of relief goods can take place and much more!

Projects like this are enormously important for the quality of life of the villagers and strengthen the whole community and its development possibilities immensely.

We are proud of our first Community Center and look forward to any support so that we can complete the construction as soon as possible. Everyone is welcome to contribute to this sustainable project.”
