Listening, Observing, Acting – For a Better Tomorrow
Swiss Barakah Charity is a Swiss aid organization that supports people in need – regardless of religion, origin, or political beliefs. Our commitment is not religiously motivated, but it is clearly shaped: our values are rooted in the Islamic view of humanity, which places solidarity, compassion, and responsibility at the center. We help efficiently, transparently, and directly – out of conviction and with impact.
Our work knows no borders
From Switzerland, we support people and projects in over 60 countries across four continents. Our name “Barakah” means blessing – and that is exactly what we want to be: a blessing for people in need.
Our help knows no ideological barriers. We act independently of religion, worldview, or political conviction – because need is universal, and so is humanity. We expect the same attitude from our partner organizations worldwide.
Values that sustain
We are an independent, non-profit organization without a political agenda. People of all religions and cultures receive our support. In doing so, we are guided by the humanitarian principles of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and commit ourselves to the highest standards in the protection of children, youth, and particularly vulnerable persons.
We have recorded our basic stance in a binding charter. It is part of every collaboration with SBC and ensures transparency, integrity, and clear responsibilities.
What we do
From emergency aid in crisis areas to educational projects and sustainable development cooperation: our help is diverse, locally adapted, and always oriented towards people’s needs.
We work closely with trustworthy local partner organizations – because they know the challenges and solutions better than any external office.
Transparency and accountability
For us, transparency is not an option but an obligation. We communicate openly about our projects, finances, and challenges. The planned ZEWO certification underscores our commitment to careful handling of donations.
Our CEO, Mohamad Ajami, personally oversees many of our projects on-site. In Switzerland, daily operations are managed by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Together, we work every day to ensure that help reaches those who need it most – regardless of everything that divides people.

Barakah means “blessing”.
Our goal is to bring this blessing from Europe to the whole world and to use it for the benefit of the needy worldwide.
Our mission focuses on helping the poorest people around the world to improve their living standards in the long term. We provide emergency assistance in crisis areas to offer immediate support, save lives, and cover basic needs.
We are aware of our responsibility towards both people and the planet. We therefore strive to implement our projects as sustainably as possible, so that not only the needy benefit for as long as possible, but also to protect the environment.
Our guiding principle is based on maximizing the benefit of your donation with creative ideas and great dedication. Even if we cannot save the world, we can, with combined efforts, make it a better place in many areas. With small steps, sincerity, and the hope for much “Barakah,” we want to achieve and create great things.
Sustainable improvement comes from sustainable ideas. We place great importance on projects that change the lives of the needy in the long term.
Open communication with donors, partners, and beneficiaries is important to us. We are open to all questions and concerns. We also place great value on regular reporting about the progress of our projects.
We continuously strive to invent new ideas and concepts to make our projects as effective and useful as possible.
