Opening of the education center in Morocco

The journey from Marrakech was long and arduous. Mountain roads centimetres away from the abyss, ankle-high water and stony stretches. We drive to Imindounit, which translates as the end of life, the end of the world. This is where the Amazigh village, which was badly damaged by the earthquake, is located – literally at the end of the world.
Shortly before the last narrowing of the road between two mountains in the huge and majestic Atlas Mountains, we have to leave the smaller support vehicle of our two-man tandem behind. Some of our team have to walk 1.5 km from here. No one drives past by chance, the place is not on any route where you would accidentally end up and, to be honest, we wonder how it is even known that there are people here – people live so far away from the action.
There, at the “end of the world”, Swiss Barakah Charity has opened a center – a place for education and social life. From now on, the Amazigh community’s center will provide children with tutoring and adults will be able to shape the social life of the village. In beautiful, clean, bright and cool rooms with sanitary conditions in keeping with human dignity.
We are received in the Imindounit with dates and milk, with singing, food and an abundance of joy and gratitude. This expression of gratitude belongs to you, dear donor. You have thought of people in need and made life easier for many people far away with your donation.
